New Year, New Goals

The first week of 2018 is almost over, have you set aside time to brainstorm your goals for the year? If you haven’t yet, it’s not too late! The beginning of the year is the perfect time for a fresh start & new beginnings. If you need help with thinking of goals & sticking to them, we have provided some helpful tips to get you started.

When trying to figure out what type of goals to set, it is essential to remember what’s important to YOU! To start, you need to braindump all of the things you want to accomplish in 2018. The most effective way to do this is with the old school pen & paper. Another crucial note to remember when writing out your goals, every goal must be written in the first person, be in the present tense, and be positive! After you are done writing down everything, you can start to divide your goals into different categories (i.e. Personal, Career, Physical, etc.). This will help you balance out your goals for the year. After you divide your goals into different categories, pick 2-5 from each one that you feel will help you live your best life.

Once this step is done, it’s time to break it down! For each goal, figure out what you can do at the end of each month to help you stay aligned with your objective. Next, find out what you can do at the end of each week. Finally, think of something you can do each day to help move the needle forward. With all of these steps written out, you will be able to have a visual reference that helps you stay on track.

The last tip (and probably the most important) is to find an Accountability Buddy. This is someone you trust to help you stay on target towards reaching your goals. You can go this person when you’re feeling discouraged, as well as when it’s time to celebrate. Without an Accountability Buddy, it is easy to veer off the path of success.

Now that you have all of the tips, we wish you the best of luck with your 2018 goals!
