Tell us about your journey.
Michelle: Carrie and I both come from an events background. Between the two of us we have dabbled in every aspect of the business from wedding coordinating, full planning, event marketing and venue sales to event rentals and design! In our other roles we could only assist a small amount of couples….but through our wedding e-design concept we can help so many more! We love wedding planning, designing and our jobs so much and couldn't imagine doing anything else!
Carrie: Michelle had just moved to Greenville and was looking for a job in the event industry. We weren't hiring at the time but I couldn't resist not hiring her. We just clicked! When my mom brought up the idea of packaging our wedding designs, I ran it past Michelle and she was in love. We both became obsessed and decided we wanted to introduce the idea into the marketplace in a big way! We went out to seek funding and then pressed go! It has been a wild ride! We have learned so much and met so many amazing people.....whether that be a bride or a contractor. Everyone has been so supportive....which has been why we kept going through a rocky journey. It is not always easy to get a start up off the ground but we have been blessed to see the success that we have in just one year! So excited to see what the next holds!!

What what's your favorite part of your day?
Michelle: My favorite part of the day is when I get to put together initial design concepts for brides. It's when I feel like I'm really using my creativity! Outside of work, my favorite part of the day is walking my two furry best friends, Wyatt + Sofi! :)
Carrie: This year I have learned that living in the moment is so important. Not worrying about the future. And soaking in every conversation, smile and even struggle. Just trusting that my path is greater than even I could imagine. It truly makes every moment my favorite part of the day. Although it doesn't come naturally, things get gritty still for sure! Just stopping and reminding myself is the best solution.

When do you feel most successful? When a bride tells us that we made her planning experience that much easier! (Michelle + Carrie)

What do you do to recharge when you’re feeling drained?
Michelle: A few of my favorite ways to recharge are going for a run or a walk with the pups, reading a good book and spending time with friends and family! Oh and wine! :)
Carrie: Reading scripture or a devotional, spending time with my dog, son, husband...sometimes in that order. Lol.

What do you know today that you wish you would have known when you first got started as an entrepreneur? Trust yourself. It's easy to let other's opinions sway you but your gut is usually right and you know your business better than anyone else!

How do you optimize your day? Google calendar is our best friend. We schedule everything out in advance so we don't miss a beat!

Who is the person/people who allowed you to imagine more?
Michelle: I am so lucky to have such amazing people in my life that support my dreams. My parents are both small business owners so seeing their hard work and success helped to make me confident that I could be a part of a startup. My fiancé, Chris, who is always there to help me troubleshoot. He gives me really honest feedback, let's me vent about frustrations and shares in my excitement about the small victories and big ones. And of course, Carrie! Carrie is the most positive person I know. She builds me up and makes me feel like no matter what is thrown at us (and there are a lot of curve balls in a startup) we can tackle it!
Carrie: How can I follow that answer! Michelle, that is so so nice! Thanks! I actually feel the same way about you! I have NEVER enjoyed work as much as I do now and that stems from being able to interact with such a positive, smart, driven individual like yourself. Gosh, we sound ridiculous. But honestly. I would not be doing this if I didn't have Michelle by my side. She is a huge part of what drives me and helps me to dream big. My husband has his doubts which is so normal but he has been there making the big decisions with me and backing it all up. None of this would have been possible without his dreams about us. Also, I haven't always been a religious person but without it I am not sure how I would be (somewhat) sane. This pressure will make a person go crazy. I have scriptures on my wall that stare me in the face while I work. Knowing that He has bigger plans and better plans that we can even dream of. That is exciting.

What does imagining more mean to you and your story?
Michelle: We have BIG dreams for The White Box but really we just want to take small, meaningful steps in the right direction. If at the end of the day we can work with newly engaged couples and make their planning experience easier for a living, then I would say we won.
Carrie: And being strong and courageous every step of the way.

If you could do more of one thing every day what would it be? Drink more water. Why is this so hard? Lol. On a serious note though, doing more for others. Whether that is a compliment a hug, or whatever....we are givers at heart and it fills our hearts completely to do so.
