Tell us about your journey? My journey...hmmm.  I always had an interest in selling and being the first one in my family to go to college, I was told marketing was the best way to sell products. So, I went to Alabama A&M University and received a B.S. in marketing.  After I graduated I started to work for AT&T in the Advertising and Publishing department...sounds fancy, but essentially I sold Yellow Pages Ads and placements.  Those sells exposed me to the world of digital marketing. I was not a fan of working for AT&T...very very very stifling to me...I am a peacock, I need to showcase my feathers!  So I took a voluntary layoff, received a severance package, and became a freelance marketer selling organic social media management. I sucked at it! I was more concerned about looking smart than reaching my client's goals. I ran SUPER low on funds (I was REALLY BROKE) so I started to work for a boutique agency, CWI.  At CWI I held dang near every position from community manager to Director of Social Media Operations over a 4-year time span.  I left CWI because I thought I needed a change of pace and started at a multi-city digital marketing agency. I felt fancy but soon found out, I was not the ideal employee for that situation lol. It took 6 months before they asked me to leave (AKA...I was fired lol).  In the parking lot, I called two people: My mom and my mentor.  Both of them celebrated the fact that I was now a "free agent" and pushed me to truly work my dream. 2 weeks later, THRSHLD was formed!

What what's your favorite part of your day? My favorite part of the day is the morning.  I listen to music...get dressed...pray...and just enjoy the dopeness ahead.

When do you feel most successful? I feel the most successful when I am authentically me in situations that suggest I conform to the status quo.

What do you do to recharge when you’re feeling drained? I typically take a walk away from my desk, leaving my phone behind...and go shopping. Shopping (even if only window shopping) allows me to focus on what is in front of me and truly unplug. Sometimes I have a random convo with someone.

What do you know today that you wish you would have known when you first got started as an entrepreneur? Emotional health is just as important as physical health.

How do you optimize your day? I TRY to plan my day but allow space for the randomness. It is a dance I have not mastered yet, lol.

Who is the person/people who allowed you to imagine more? My mom! She always encouraged me to be weird and do my own thing. She supported my randomness... as long as I bought home good grades.

What does imagining more mean to you and your story? It means allowing myself the space to embrace the "what if".  So many things are done because of tradition, but the best things are made up from a childlike imagination.  Great things follow the question of "Wouldn't it be dope if...".

If you could do more of one thing every day what would it be? Laugh from a real place!
